Finally the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 tablet is here.
There is really little difference between the Kindle Fire HD tablet in this size and the Kindle Fire HD tablet in the 7 inch size. Having the extra display room does make a small difference when accessing some applications and especially when watching video.

The Kindle Fire HD a 8.9 inch tablet really sets itself apart from some of the other tablets by having a great sized screen. The color never appears stretched and the images are presented in stunning HD quality. The viewing area of the 8.9 inch tablet is roughly the same size as a whole 7 inch Kindle Fire tablet.
You don’t really notice a prolific difference in picture quality until you switch between the two. I definitely prefer the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 inch version.
The new HD display delivers rich color and deep contrast. The display features include additional display support, ambient light sensor, scratch resistant glass, and touchscreen. The screen resolution is 1280 X 800 pixels.
Since the Kindle Fire HD 7 inch version has come out there was a major system update for the kindle fire HD 8.9 inch version. Because of the change in dimensions the system needed some modifications and you may need to do a system update when you start the tablet for the first time.
The system update is very easy to apply and will work to make sure that your display functions correctly especially when you switch between a landscape view and a portrait view on the tablet. In order to verify if you need a system update you can do so at device setting. In your Kindle Fire device settings you can also check your remaining storage, battery life, serial number, and reset your device to factory settings.
The first thing you must do before activating is to charge your Kindle. You can use the USB to charge it by connecting it to your computer. When the battery is fully charge you will know it because the light indicator will go from orange to green. Make sure the USB cord is attached securely and the battery indicator shows it’s charging.
When you first start to use your Kindle tablet you’ll need to connect it to your Wi-Fi or a Wi-Fi hotspot immediately, so that you can register for an Amazon account, to download new content. In order for you to be able to shop for applications, books, music, and movies you must first register your Amazon account. When you buy any content directly from your Kindle you have to register a method of payment. There are several ways to place a payment method you can use a debit / credit card, prepaid card, or Amazon gift card.
The beginning steps of activating your Kindle Fire are as follow:
1.Get Connected:
In order to connect to your Wi-Fi you must first swipe down the top of the screen and then click on wireless.
Make sure that airplane mode is turn off. Select the network you would like to connect. If their is a lock icon you will need to enter the password in order to join that network. After you insert the password tap connect.
2. Select Your Time And Date:
To set your time and date swipe down from the top of your screen. Click on device. Then tap on date and time to set it up.
3. Register Your Kindle Fire:
In order, to use your Kindle you must first register it to your Amazon account. You must first swipe down from the top of your screen. Click on account. You'll need to know your email address and password associated with your Amazon account.
4. Set up 1 Click Payment:
You'll need to register for 1 Click Payment if you plan on purchasing anything from the store. Directly from a computer visit amazon.com/manageyourkindle. and click on Kindle Payment Settings. Select Default 1 Click payment method, select edit, and follow the steps.
The credit card you have stored will be used for all your Kindle purchases. You can change this credit card at any given time.
5. Start Browsing And Shopping
There is no need to worry when you first turn on your Kindle Fire, a guide with simple instructions will guide you through the set up process. If your ever need help with setting up or troubleshooting your Kindle use the user guide. To find the user guide all you have to do is follow these crumbs tap on settings, tap on help & guidelines, and then select user guide. There are also additional tutorials that can help you to learn about all of the different features that your Kindle Fire HD 8.9 inch tablet has to offer.
If you ever need to watch the tutorial again you can start your tablet as normal and then tap your finger near the top of the screen to slide it down. By selecting the more options tab from this drop-down menu you then select help and feedback and get back to the getting started tutorial. This is an extremely helpful feature if you ever forget about certain functions on your kindle fire.
Once you are able to spend some time using your new Kindle Fire HD 8.9 inch tablet, you’ll become much more comfortable with the operating system and also all of the different features that you can access on it. It is truly amazing the amount of applications and features that the kindle fire has to offer. Presenting them on the new HD 8.9 inch screen also allows you to get the most out of your applications and videos.
